Molly Ashlie | aka Misty Moss
Founder & Chief Empowerment Officer
The name on my birth certificate is Molly Ashlie, but you may know me as my burlesque persona, Misty Moss. While I have always had a camera attached to my hip, I didn’t start taking it seriously until I learnt the life changing effects it can have when I started doing burlesque. These two passions have always been intertwined – one feeding into the other. Unlearning my own toxic body beliefs through burlesque, celebrating myself unapologetically (every roll, every jiggle, every curve), and helping others move through their own beliefs and feel good in their bodies through Boudoir Photography.
In 2015 I started doing burlesque, and in 2016 I was fully hooked on the life-changing experience of empowerment, and opened my own Boudoir Business to help others shed their own toxic body beliefs, and to embrace themselves just as they are. I worked from my Victoria BC home studio successfully for many years, and in 2021 we opened our first ever Boudoir Studio, and brought on an Associate Photographer to help capture even more stunning clients.
Helping people see their own worth and power in front of my lens is what has helped keep my passion for photography alive. Being able to help shed some of those toxic body beliefs we have all inherited from this patriarchal culture. To see people stand taller, embrace what makes them one of a kind, and document it unapologetically.
In a world that wants you to feel small and to adhere to someone else’s ideal of beauty: Be your own damn muse.
