the inspiration
part o1.
A salon is a gathering of people held by a host. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate".*
In a world dominated by men, the salon was where women ruled. Originating in Italy in the 16th century, and flourishing in France during the 17th and 18th centuries, these gatherings served as intimate hubs for women to exchange ideas, share inspiration, and explore artistic and philosophical realms. The tradition continued to thrive in Italy throughout the 19th century, creating a timeless legacy of empowerment and intellectual camaraderie among women, and expanded to include all genders. Join us in uncovering the charm of these salons, where minds converged and creativity blossomed in an atmosphere of shared wisdom and warmth.

part o2.
The synergy of education, camaraderie, and collaborative idea-sharing forms the foundation of artistic growth. Yet, accessibility to education can remain a challenge, with workshops often requiring a substantial investment and conference travel being impractical for many. The Boudoir Salon seeks to overcome these barriers, acting as a bridge to provide inspiration and practical education led by industry luminaries in a more accessible manner.
