Babes Day Out 2017 - A Day of Empowerment And Self-Love Victoria BC

Let me just preface this post by saying: wow. Just, wow. 

I guess when I was caught up in the busy-ness of organizing and creating this event, I didn't realize the magnitude of what it means to have over 20 powerful and inspiring women in a room together. Laughing together. Crying together. Growing together. It was... life-changing, to say the least. I felt shaken to my core by the beauty, the unapologetic love, and sisterhood that this day exuded. 

The day started out as I expected it to - everyone was a little nervous walking into the debut of a new event. A first-time trial. But as the events went on, as each speaker and teacher began to break down the walls of each participant... the energy in the room swelled. It became the perfect space to share and to shed fear, worries, tribulations... all those things that we as women hold on our shoulders every day... we all wiggled out of them and stood with our fellow women as strong individuals. Embracing our uniqueness. Celebrating our true selves. 

Along with the deep healing and incredibly beautiful safe space that the day provided - it also provided unrelenting fun and trying new things. It was incredible watching the ladies dance their faces off with Passion and Performance, and later Chastity Twist. There was endless laughs had while most of the women tried twerking for the first time - led by Miss Luna Lush. And between all the dancing and the wiggling, we all sat down and got deeply in touch with our inner selves. Aided in beautiful meditation by Angela Thurston, and a deep check-in with Rosie Bitts. 

I have to be honest - I was a nervous and worried wreck the day before the event launched. I was worried it would flop, that I would host this event and it would fall flat. But I can't believe I doubted that magic that powerful and inspiring women bring with them into a room. And this room was full of 20 beautiful women - ready to inspire the hell out of themselves, and their sisters. I can't wait for the next one!
